Spinal Decompression Could be the Answer to Your Chronic Back Pain

Recent technological advancements have brought us spinal decompression systems which provide non-invasive treatment for back pain. Traction is a popular treatment for back pain, but it causes some patients to experience discomfort, fatigue, muscle spasms and could in some cases exacerbate the patient’s pain. Spinal decompression technology offers a safe alternate that is designed to bypass the pain and discomfort associated with other forms of therapy.

During spinal decompression therapy, the spine is intermittently stretched and relaxed. The aim is to create negative pressure between the spine’s discs. This promotes the repositioning of herniated or bulging discs. The lower pressure also allows healing nutrients to more easily enter the disc, creating a positive healing environment. Spinal decompression is effective in treating bulging vertebral discs, degenerative disc disease, sciatica and posterior facet syndrome. Most importantly, it treats all of these conditions without the need for surgery or medication.

The DRX9000

The DRX9000 (Decompression Reduction Extraction), by Axiom Worldwide, is recognized as the best spinal decompression system available. Its computer controlled, precision components can target specific spinal segments, relieving disc pressure only where needed. The DRX9000 is made up of a split table where the patient lays supported by harnesses. The harnesses are attached a system of motors and pulleys that move the two sections of the table. That motion provides the decompressing force between the patient’s vertebrae, reducing pressure and herniation of the affected disc and allowing nutrients, water and oxygen to be readily absorbed.

A decompression session on the DRX9000 takes between 30 and 40 minutes. The process is comfortable and produces no pain. Each decompression session will be proceeded and followed by other forms of physical therapy like hot and cold therapy and electrical muscle stimulation. Patients can see results and start to experience relief in as little as two sessions. A complete treatment cycle consists of two or three sessions a week for six weeks. Some patients may require fewer or more sessions depending on the severity of their symptoms. The cycle starts with a low or moderate decompression force. That forces is increased several times during the six week cycle.

Advance Health Services offers DRX9000 treatments through two units. Each is fitted with a DVD player and monitor positioned overhead, and a collection of television programs are available for the patient’s enjoyment during the treatment. DRX9000 treatments are affordable and often covered by health insurance policies. Call us today to set up your consultation. We will determine if DRX9000 spinal decompression is right for you and contact your insurance company to confirm that the treatment is covered.
